During that 75 years, I’ve learned a few things. Some of them have taught me some ways of coping with challenges. And in the following postings I will be sharing with you some of the ways to deal with these challenges – I’ve learned. Before, we start on them; we need to take a look at some of the basic life factors I’ve developed.
My earliest memories and stories others have told me about my childhood have started me down the path of developing these basic factors.
As example, one of the first things, as a baby, I needed to learn was; that each person is in two secular worlds. The first world we learn about, is that “I/me” exist. I’m a person and I like to be in control of the world around me. Example: When I cry, I want attention. The second secular world I needed to learn about is the world of “others.” I need other persons around me. They are needed to care for me. I can try demanding for that care; but some of them don’t look favorably upon demands. They usually react better when I smile and laugh, etc. When I use this technique, I usually get more attention and care; then I get with the demanding.
As I started to get older; I started to notice that the others around me could not do everything I would like them to do. They had limitations. But some of those times, I learned; that they could go to a higher level to get results(e.g. they could not teach me, because they had to work, so they had to arrange for me to be educated in a school). Also I learned that just because I wanted something; their were higher levels that said that I couldn’t, like the justice system (e.g. police). These and other factors taught me one very basic truth. Their were others in control of the worlds I lived in.
As I learned this fact of life; I also learned that the people who were in charge, usually had people in charge of them. You can keep going up another level, quite a few times, with what is called authority levels. If these authority levels fail to function within the set of guidelines they are required to function within. there are penalties. So I and the others I influence are restricted to what we can do, and if we violate these restrictions, there are penalties.
There is some one at a higher level almost for all authority levels. But I soon learned that there is a top level. The generic term, for this highest level is called: “Higher Power.” The term most people use is called “God.”
In the next posting, I will discuss what I’ve learned about the “Higher Power.”
